1998 Tatachilla Adelaide Hills Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

Opaque black, crimson colour with mauve edges. Excellent nose with aromas of violets, confectionary – almost perfumed, followed by notes of ripe mulberry, spice and ripe blackcurrant. A very classy sniff. The palate is not as exciting as the nose, which is a little surprising, and a touch drier than expected. Flavours of stewed fruits, chocolate, spice and plum. Fine grained tannins followed by an aftertaste of spice and stewed fruits. Cellar 3-4 years.
