1998 Stonier's Chardonnay

Tod Dexter has made an impressive Chardonnay from fruit grown entirely on the Mornington Peninsula. Brilliant pale straw colour. The nose is impressive, filled with the aroma of melon, spice, yeast lees, biscuit and cashews. The palate delivers what the nose promises, complexity and flavour. Carefully integrated toasted oak, melon fig flavours are layered over nut and yeast lees. Excellent length and persistence, followed by very long yeast lees, cashews, spice and melon aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years.
