1998 Seppelt St. Peter's Great Western Vineyards Shiraz

This is the long awaited benchmark wine from Seppelt. The St. Peters vineyard is located at the front of the Great Western winery and has constantly produced exceptional Shiraz fruit. Totally opaque, black crimson colour, with deep crimson hue. Superb nose, filled with the aroma of violet, blackberries and spice, followed by a liquorice all sorts end note. The wine is classic Great Western Shiraz, displaying the sort of depth and intensity found in Bests Thomson and Bin 0. This is a wine that exhibits a strong regional character. Mouth filling palate flavours of liquorice, plum and black pepper. The black pepper character continues to build on the back palate and run all the way though to the aftertaste. Fine grained tannins, perfect balance, followed by exceptionally long blackberry, black pepper and vanilla spice aftertaste. Stock are extremely limited.
