1998 Saltram Mamre Brook Cabernet Sauvignon

Barossa and Shiraz are synonymous - and if you started to believe that Cabernet was losing the flavour weight race, this wine might just change your mind. This wine has been fermented in traditional 8 tonne open fermenters and matured in new French oak for 12 months. Opaque purple crimson colour - the sort of colour that brings joy to the heart. Impressive nose, with aroma of spice, liquorice, blood plum and a chocolate end note. Mouthfilling firm dry tannin grip but in balance with the ripe plum, spice and vanilla fruit. Excellent balance, followed by dark chocolate, plum, spice and liquorice after taste. Cellar for 10-12 years.
