Region: Located next door to the 15th Century Abbey of Annunziata. Halfway up a hill in the valley of Barolo in the Northern Italian region of Piemonte.
Characteristics: The village and castle, which flourished next to the ancient monastery, is called “Marcenasco”. This Barolo is a brilliant red colour and clear. The nose reveals a bouquet of liquorice, tobacco and white truffle. It is austere warm and harmonious. The palate is long and memorable. This Barolo is extremely approachable.Serve: Open a few hours before and serve after a delicate decanter.
