1998 Plunkett Blackwood Ridge Botrytis Gewurztraminer

A very interesting style. Not quite a tardive, because it lacks the concentration and mouthfeel of the Alsatians style, but certainly an interesting spatlese style. Bright straw colour. Uplifted aroma of ripe lychee, dried apricots and spice. The palate has a delicate sweetness, with flavours of ripe tea, sweet tea, hints of citrus and a touch of lime on the finish. The acid levels are sufficient for the short term, so drink up over the next couple of years. Sweet tea, lychee and ripe apricot aftertaste.
