For the first time the Mount Langi Ghiran Shiraz contains a portion of fruit sourced from their 18 year old Mountain Block vineyard. These vines have struggled for 15 years against the persistent south west winds off the cliffs of Mount Langi Ghiran, however, since the erection of a totally enclosed wind net structure the vines now are producing superb quality Langi style wines. Opaque crimson mauve colour. Superb nose with aroma of liquorice, blackberry, spice and vanilla end notes. The palate displays excellent intensity and concentration of flavour. The blackberry and blackpepper flavour components are to the forefront with the blackpepper quality intensifying on the back palate and running long onto the aftertaste. Fine grained tannins, excellent balance. Cellar 8-10 years.
