- Closure: Cork
The colour is magnificent. Totally opaque, crimson purple. The nose is impressive with aromas of mint, earth, blackcurrant, cedar and truffle. The palate does not let this wine down and displays excellent weight with dominant flavours of blackcurrant, truffles and spice. Fine grained dry tannin structure with the flavours of very ripe blood plum emerging on the back palate and aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years.
Retasted: May 2001
Opaque purple, mauve, crimson colour. Excellent nose with aroma of spice, blackcurrant, cedar and truffle. The palate displays good weight and is supported by strong blackcurrant flavours over a background of mulberry, spice and liquorice all sorts. The wine lacks great length and the tannins are too prominent at the moment, but will settle down. Long spice, blackcurrant aftertaste. Cellar 4-5 years.
