1998 Montara Vintage Port Shiraz

A light style of vintage port, with relatively coarse brandy spirit. Medium body, brick red colour with ruby edges. Aroma of toasted oak, spice, liquorice and compot, followed by very peppery end notes. The palate displays coarse, young brandy spirit, which is very dominant, leaving the fruit well behind. Some spice and liquorice background flavours emerge, followed by hot coarse brandy aftertaste and a hint of liquorice.
