1998 Ingoldby Cabernet Sauvignon

This is a firm wine that is desperate for extended cellaring and is nowhere near approachable at this stage. Opaque crimson mauve colour. The nose is restrained, but with some effort yields aromas of blackcurrant and spice. The palate structure is firm with blackcurrant and plum flavours swamped by firm, long dry tannins. The wine is out of balance at this stage, however, the components that are present will in fact reach equilibrium over the next 5-8 years.
