1998 Henschke Lenswood Abbotts Prayer

An outstanding red which has been blended using 86% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Cabernet Franc. Stephen Henschke has matured the wine in new Vosges hogsheads. Deep crimson black colour. Superb refined nose, with layers of violets, raspberry, spice, new leather and blackcurrant. The palate is refined and mouthfilling, again displaying the layered complexity of the nose. Flavours of truffle, leather, blackcurrant and cedar are superbly intertwined. Excellent length and depth. Perfect balance. Very fine dry tannins followed by a very long truffle, spice, plum, mulberry and leather aftertaste.
Cellar 4-5 years (2006-2007).
