1998 Flinders Bay Cabernet Sauvignon

The Flinders Bay vineyards are located South of Margaret River at Witchcliffe and Karridale.Deep crimson colour. The nose displays earth and leather aromas which is then followed by an overpowering aroma of tobacco. If you've never smelt tobacco in a wine, this is the wine to experience it in. The palate flavours are on the lean side, a little hard and overwhelmed by the stalky tobacco flavours, leaving the blackcurrant fruit flavours in the background. Very firm, fine grained tannins, followed by long tobacco and blackcurrant aftertaste. Cellar 4-5 years and await its grand evolution.
