A superb complex Shiraz that is drinking exceptionally well at the moment. Opaque black crimson colour with a hint of brick red emerging. The nose is an excellent sniff, with aromas of violets, plum and cedar. The palate is both refined and explosive with its concentration and power. Layers of prune, stewed fruit, plum, blackpepper and cedar create a complex palate structure. Outstanding length and concentration, balanced perfectly by fine grained dry tannins followed by an aftertaste of blackpepper that lasts for minutes. Wine maker Fiona Donald has done a great job, and our only criticism of the wine is the super trendy, elongated bottleneck. Very trendy a few years ago but has now become a bit passé. None the less a wonderful drink.
Cellar 3-4 years (2005-2006).
