Domaine La Fourmone wines are considered to be the finest examples from the Vacqueyras Appellation. Winemaker, Roger Combe is considered by his fellow winemakers to be provincial, due to the fact that he includes a provincial text on his label. Domaine La Fourmone wines have enormous concentration, depth and power. They are bottled unfiltered.
Tasting Notes: This is a much drier and finer style of red wine, and one that definitely needs to be accompanied by food, where its tannins will appear to be less obvious. Medium body, brick red colour with crimson hues. Delicately refined nose, with notes of spice and plum. On the palate flavours of ripe plum, spice and black pepper, over a very spicy white pepper background. Fine very dry, firm tannins, followed by a very dry confectionary, spice aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years.
