Wine makers have fallen in love with the Italian varietals and are looking for the next big wine to emerge from this group of grapes. The consumers have only expressed mild interest. The low pigment Italian varietals invariably have less than spectacular colour and relatively high tannins, but none the less are ideal partners with Mediterranean food.Medium body, crimson colour. Subtle nose with lifted spice, perfume, confectionary, raspberry and vanilla aromas. Fine, firmish palate with subtle flavour of confectionary and raspberry re emerging. Very fine grained tannins, medium length and aftertaste of raspberry, spice and vanilla. Cellar 3-5 years.
