1998 Cathcart Ridge Estate Rhymney Reef Merlot

Opaque brick red colour. Aroma of stewed fruit, leather, tar, very ripe plum, hints of earth and new leather as end notes. The palate reflects the nose with very ripe almost jammy, stewed fruit flavour, with a hint of peppermint and tea leaf on the end palate. Fine grained, dry tannins, with porty aftertaste. Cellar 2-3 years.
