The 1997 Kinnaird created quite a lot of interest upon release and the 1998 is sure to follow. The wine is produced from Capel Vale's Whispering Hill Vineyard at Mount Barker and matured in French Oak. Deep crimson colour with brick red edges. Delightful nose with distinct aroma of blood plums over a vanilla spice background. The palate shows impressive concentrated flavours with plum and stewed fruits embracing earthy spice, liquorice and blackpepper end flavours. Long concentrated palate, firm grip, but balanced with very long aftertaste. Cellar 8-10 years.
