1998 Brokenwood Cricket Pitch Dry Red

A consistently reliable red made from a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Shiraz and Merlot. Deep crimson mauve colour. Aromas of mint, earth, cedar, blackcurrant, vanilla and spice with an excellent degree of complexity and finally a chocolate note emerging at the very end. The palate displays excellent structure and good weight with flavours of confectionery, chocolate and plum over a stewed fruit and spice background. Fine grained, well balanced tannin structure with plum, spice, stewed fruits aftertaste. Cellar 4-5 years.
