The wine makers of Pemberton are very keen to promote the climate similarities of the area to that of Bordeaux and Burgundy and in truth, it probably lies somewhere in between the two regions. The Black George Pinot Noir is a full bodied style that has many similarities to the Burgundies of Pommard. Deep crimson mauve colour. The nose is lifted with aromas of spice, cherry and raspberry followed by a hint of game. Full bodied, generous mouth feel with spicy cherry and liquorice flavours dominant followed by a strawberry, plum and jam back palate flavour which persists right until the end with an earthy finish. Persistent and lingering this is a very juicy style of Pinot. Cellar 3-5 years.
