1998 Balnaves The Blend

The Blend consists of 35% Merlot, 34% Cabernet Sauvignon and 31% Cabernet Franc.Fermented in small 8 tonne fermenters which give the winemaker great control over the fermentation process. The blended wine spent 15 months in Segum Moreau and Remond barriques. Opaque crimson colour with a black heart. Outstanding perfumed nose with aroma of ripe blackcurrants, spice, violets and truffles. Superbly structured palate with distinct flavours of cedar and truffles married perfectly with the blackcurrant and spice. A wine that displays real finesse. Perfect balance with very long fine dry aftertaste of cedar, spice, toasted oak and blackcurrants. Cellar 4-5 years
