Heytesbury is Vasse Felix's super premium label made using only the best fruit available. Since the first release in 1995 it has built an impeccable show record having won 9 trophies and 6 gold medals. The name Heytesbury was chosen as a tribute to Vasse Felix's parent company, Heytesbury Pty Ltd, controlled by Mrs Janet Holmes a' Court.Made from a blend of 34% Cabernet Franc, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 12% Shiraz. Deep black red colour - almost opaque. On the nose there are aromas of cassis, spice, coffee and dark chocolate. As with most other Margaret River cabernets the 1997 Heytesbury is tighter in structure than its 1996 and 1995 predecessors due to lower yields. On the palate there are intense berry fruits, spice and cloves with ripe tannins and good acid levels. Cellar 10-15 years. 14.6% alcohol volume. Stocks are extremely limited.
