1997 St Marys House Block Cabernet Sauvignon

A beautifully structured Cabernet - in the classic Coonawarra mould. Produced on a small parcel of Terra Rossa soil, some 13km west of Coonawarra, this red displays magnificent, vibrant, crimson mauve colour. The nose is a delight - almost perfumed with its aroma of ripe blackcurrants, violets and delicate cedar. The palate is refined - wonderful ripe blackcurrant flavours, superbly constrained by oak and just a hint of mint - very long palate flavours, perfect balance, with long blackcurrant, mint and spice aftertaste. Mother Mary MacKillop would be very pleased indeed!
