The script writer of the back label of this wine is not particularly skilled in mathematics, as this wine has been matured in 85% new oak and 17% 2 year old American oak. That brings it to a total of 102%. Medium bodied crimson colour. The nose displays aromas of plum and stewed fruit with some peppery leather background aromas. On the palate flavours of plum, mulberry and stewed fruit abound with some vanilla and confectionary. Although the wine delivers a honest array of flavour, it lacks complexity and yet it's simplicity makes it an ideal early drinking red. Soft tannins with some spicy liquorice and plum after flavours. Cellar 2-3 years.
