1997 Rosemount Estate Balmoral Syrah

An exceptional wine produced from very old low yielding vines andmatured for twenty three months in American oak barrels. Opaque crimsoncolour. Outstanding perfumed nose.  Wonderful aroma of violets,blackpepper, spice and stewed fruit. Mouthfilling palate, veryconcentrated with massive amounts of chocolate, ripe plum and pronouncedblackpepper flavours layered over vanilla and cedar oak.  Near perfectlength.  Fine grained velvet smooth tannins, perfect balance and anaftertaste that stays around for more than five minutes.A great follow up to the 1996 vintage, and easily capable of 8-10 yearscellaring.
