1997 Morris Rutherglen Shiraz

An unusual Morris Red. Rutherglen Reds are generally renown for their big colour density and extracted flavour, however, this wine does not fit the mould. Medium bodied crimson colour. An impressive nose with lifted aroma of plum, liquorice, vanillin oak and spice. The palate is filled with the flavour of ripe fruits, yet doesn't have the expected monumental 'Big Red' structure. Ripe plums and stewed fruit flavours are integrated with vanilla liquorice and spice. Fine grained soft tannins are followed by long plum, spice and liquorice aftertaste. Cellar 3-4 years.
