Yet another 'monster' from Leasingham, and destined to be cellared for 8-10 years. The grapes for this wines were grown on the Schobers Vineyard in Clare Valley. Opaque, crimson colour with mauve edges. Excellent nose with aromas of liquorice, plum, vanilla, stewed fruit, leather and earth. A wonderful sniffing Shiraz. The palate is as generous as the colour and nose suggest, but has a very firm, very dry tannic backbone that makes the wine relatively unapproachable in the early years. Flavours of confectionary, ripe plum and vanilla with stewed fruits, liquorice, chocolate and mocca on the aftertaste, and again, the firm dry tannins very much expressing their presence.
