1997 Leasingham Classic Clare Cabernet Sauvignon

A big tannic red made for the long haul. Opaque crimson black colour with brick red edges. Superb nose, showing lots of promise for the future. Aromas of cedar, toasted oak, liquorice, spice and ripe blackcurrants. On the palate the fine, very dry tannin structure dominates and forms the basis for a long life. The fruit flavours take a back seat for the time being, but are very much present and dominated by plum and blackcurrant, which are enhanced by flavours of cedar, oak, earthy leather and spice. Tight knit, with tannins lasting long into the aftertaste. A great cellaring proposition, over the next 10-15 years.
