Deep brick red colour with brick red hue. Medium body. The nose is fully developed with perfumed lift of old leather, cedar, spice and mulberry jam. The palate is mouthfilling, with the fruit still holding up. Spicy flavours of mulberry jam and strawberry jam emerge over a background of old leather. Velvet tannins. Long aftertaste of cedar, old leather and spice.Cellar 1-2 years (2007-2008) Alc/Vol: 14.5%

First tasted, Decmber 2000:
An outstanding Australian Merlot with a perfumed nose. Opaque brick red colour. The nose is a superb sniffing experience, with aroma of violets, mulberry, spice, tea kettle and liquorice. The palate flavours are mouthfilling and display excellent length and complexity with flavours of spice and mulberry over a background of raspberry and liquorice, with again that very interesting hint of tea on the back palate. Very fine, dry tannins, perfectly balanced with very long mulberry, spice aftertaste.
Cellar 3-5 years.
