Inchgower was built in 1871 to replace the Tochineal Distillery but was liquidated in 1903. Buckie Council purchased the concern in 1936 and ownership was transferred to Arthur Bell & Sons Ltd in 1938. To this day the Bell's logo is used in the advertising of Inchgower. The current operator is Diageo. It continues to contribute a major component to Bell's blended whiskies, the number one selling Scotch in the U.K.

Inchgower sources unpeated malt from Burghead and matures mainly in refill American oak casks. The house style is typically nutty, spicy, medium dry and mid weight.

Other reviews... n21 t21.5 f21 b21. A plodding malt which does its best to do as little as possible. Yet the cask is good and as enjoyable as a corner shop cheese sandwich. 43% 84.5 points - Jim Murrays Whisky Bible 2013size>
