Notes sourced from Enoteca Sileno

The vineyards from which it comes from are the best on the estate. This can be attributed to three factors, the altitude of 270 meters from which the wines name derives, the kind of vines used which are from the oldest and most ancient clones and the Barbera variety which gives the wine its unique character.

Grape variety: Barbera, Pinot Nero, Croatina and Uva Rara.
Region: In the central region of Lombardia in the most southern part in an area known as Oltrepò Pavese.Vinification: Traditional method of winemaking including the maceration on skins during fermentation before ageing for more than a year in different size barrels. After bottling the wine will further spend considerable time in the cellar before release.
Characteristics: Ruby in colour with violet flecks. A wine of big structure yet elegance gaining in greater value over time. The aroma has hints of blackberry jam and spice with tannins that are not overbearing. The palate is full yet soft having a long aromatic persistence. This wine will keep for a minimum of 10 years if cellared.
Serve: Allow time to breathe if possible and serve at room temperature.
Try With: Roasts and game meats.
