This is consistently an outstanding wine. The 1996 Signature is named after Group Commercial Director, Alexander Wark. The wine was matured for 28 months in American oak hogsheads. Deep crimson colour with black centre. Pronounced nose with aroma of vanilla oak, spice, toasty oak and liquorice followed by a tarry end note. Mouthfilling palate flavours of plum, spice, liquorice and vanilla- excellent weight and mouthfeel. Long concentrated palate flavours - perfect balance, fine grained tannins and a very long persistent aftertaste. Cellar 5-8 years.
