1996 Wirra Wirra The Angelus Cabernet Sauvignon

Made from a blend of 65% McLaren Vale fruit and 35% Coonawarra fruit. Only 1900 cases of this wine were produced from small but high quality parcels of fruit, which are sourced from individual low yielding vineyards.The wine was matured in a combination of new, one and two year old French oak barriques for 20 months. Deep inky, plum purple colour. The nose displays intense spicy, blackcurrant and cherry fruit aromas with hints of mint, cedary oak and cigar box. On the palate there are concentrated ripe blackcurrant and cherry flavours integrated with mint, spice and smoky oak characters. Excellent length and balance with fine grained tannin finish. 13.5% Alcohol Volume.
