The Scholz family history in Australia dates back to their arrival from Germany in 1845. Members of the Silesian Lutheran community, the Scholz family were subjected to religious and taxation persecution under the reign of Frederick III. It seems that history continuously repeats itself! Today Peter and Michael Scholz carry on their wine making heritage. Opaque crimson mauve colour. The nose is filled with aromas of spiced blackberry, plum and blackpepper finishing with a hint of vanilla. The palate displays the magnificent generosity of Barossa fruit. Ripe plum, stewed fruit and chocolate flavours, followed by a trace of liquorice and vanilla. Voluptuous. Fine grained tannins with long plum, vanilla and spice aftertaste. Cellar 3-5 years.
