Tasting notes sourced from Tarra Warra Vineyard

The 1996 growing conditions for Pinot Noir in the Yarra Valley were ideal allowing the grapes to be picked at optimum ripeness. The wine was aged in a combination of new 1 and 2 year old small French barriques for a period of 16 months.Rich ruby red colour. The nose displays aromas of black cherry, beetroot and charred oak with some earthy characters in the background. The palate has plenty of ripe fruit with a fine grain tannin structure and long aftertaste. This wine is still very tight and needs 3-5 years in the cellar.
