This wine has now well and truly passed its use by date. Deep sienna brown colour – showing its old age. The nose reveals those ‘everlasting’ green fruit notes that won’t go away no matter how long you cellar the wine. Vegetative top note, followed by old leather and varnish. Oxidised palate, flavours of old leather and varnish, wild grass, herbaceous overlay.

Alc/Vol: 14%

First Tasted, 31/05/1999: Deep crimson colour. The nose displays strong regional characters with strong mint and eucalyptus aromas dominant over a background of stewed plums followed by a trace of liquorice allsorts. On the palate the mint eucalyptus flavours are again very pronounced, supported by earthy leather and cedar background flavours. Fine grained tannins with long mint aftertaste. A most unusual style that will need some careful matching with food as the regional characters are very pronounced.
Cellar 5-8 years.
