A consistent performer and hardly surprising given the fact it comes from low yielding vines cropped at 2.5 tonnes per acre. Matured for 12 months in new French oak and 1 year old American oak.Magnificent opaque purple crimson colour. The nose is very pronounced with earthy leather aromas followed by mint and a distinct white pepper finish. The palate is as expected, filled with concentrated ripe fruit. Generous ripe plum flavours are interwoven with mint, cedar, vanilla and a touch of blackpepper on the end palate. Fine grained tannins, excellent length followed by long minty, blackcurrant, liquorice and spice aftertaste. Cellar 5-8 years.
