1996 Howard Park Chardonnay

John Wade is one of Australia's most talented winemakers and the Howard Park wines are eagerly sought after by collectors worldwide. Supply is minuscule. Deep straw colour. The nose displays aromas of butterscotch, cashew nuts and biscuits over a leesy barrel ferment background. The complexity of the nose is translated onto the palate. Melon and fig fruit flavours dominate but are only the first layers of a multi layered palate. The fruit flavours are enhanced by cashews, almonds and barrel ferment characters over a creamy texture. The palate displays concentrated persistent flavours - excellent balance and finishes with a long cashew melon aftertaste. Cellar 5-8 years. Stocks are Limited.
