1996 Elderton Shiraz

This is unmistakably Classic Barossa. The perfect marriage of opulence and new oak. Made from vines up to 60 years old this wine was matured in new American and French oak for 18 months. Opaque mauve crimson colour. Magnificent nose of liquorice, cedar and vanilla with ripe plum and blackberries. The palate is filled with luscious ripe fruit - a superb ripe shiraz. The blackberry and ripe plum flavours are in great abundance perfectly integrated with the new French and American oak and enhanced by strong vanilla aftertaste. Cellar 5-8 years.
