This is possibly Yalumba's most sophisticated chardonnay. Matured in French oak, the wine displays considerable complexity due to barrel fermentation. Bright straw colour. The nose displays aromas of cashews and grapefruit with some barrel ferment /lees overtones. The palate is quite European, avoiding the fruity peach flavours so common in many Australian Chardonnays. Cashew, butterscotch and hints of biscuit flavours fill the palate. Clean crisp acidity and long biscuit cashew aftertaste. Cellar 3-5 years.
