1995 Produttori Barbaresco Montestefano Riserva Del Barbaresco

This wine has been produced since 1967, and is regarded as the Barolo of Barbaresco. Made entirely from Nebbiolo, which has been aged in oak for 4 years. Deepish brick red colour, with some sienna brown edges. Medium body. The wine is showing some bottle developed characteristics, and displays a complex aroma of truffles and old cedar, over a perfumed background – with nuances of old tawny port. The palate flavours build slowly, to reveal truffle, earth and spice characteristics. Dry, firmish tannins, which run all the way through the wine and linger. The wine is recommended to be served with hearty, tasty meat dishes, polenta and Parmesan.
