1995 Kay Brothers Amery Vineyards Shiraz

This is very much a classic Colin Kay Shiraz. It does not quite have the same weight as BLOCK 6 but having said that it's not that far off the mark and at a fraction of the price.Opaque crimson mauve colour. The nose is filled with the aromas of ripe fruit and supported by some traditional earthy McLaren Vale notes in the background. Aromas of ripe plums, stewed fruit, spice and vanilla make this wine easily recognized as a cousin of BLOCK 6. The palate is big - full bodied, again packed with generous ripe fruit flavours. Plums, chocolate, spice and some truffle flavours fill the mouth. Fine dry tannin structure, with long lingering chocolate, licorice, truffle aftertaste. Cellar 8 - 10 years.
