1994 Leasingham Bin 56 Cabernet Malbec

The 1994 vintage Clare Valley reds have been monumental instructure, and the Bin 56 follows suit. A blend of 85% Cabernetand 15% Malbec, the wine displays a generous 13.5% AlcoholVolume. The colour is opaque crimson with mauve edges -indicating a big concentrated wine to follow. The nose is filledwith rich ripe plums, blackcurrants, spicy chocolate and a hintof violets supported by a generous dose of American oak. Thepalate contradicts the expectations of the nose - it is lighterthan anticipated, and displays a degree of elegance in the realsense of the word. Ripe blackcurrant, spice and plum flavoursrun through the palate, excellent depth of flavour - and wellintegrated oak, fine, but firm tannins will ensure at least 10years cellaring.
