This is a classic wine, showing the monumental power of cabernet as a grape variety and supported by a 15% merlot component. Cabernet is King - its structure presents the taster with another dimension of persistence in aftertaste - and remains on the palate for some time after tasting. A must, from a great low yielding year. Tasting Notes: Opaque crimson colour. The nose displays both intensity and a multi layered complexity that made this wine stand out immediately. Confectionary, almonds, spice, truffles, mint and blackcurrant layers create a perfume like aroma. The palate is mouthfilling, demonstrating the benefits of a low yielding vintage. Truffle, blackcurrant, confectionary and spice flavours are very persistent and are enhanced by a fine firm tannin structure - extremely long aftertaste. Drink now or cellar up to 10 years. A magnificent red. Be quick - only 40 dozen left.
