1993 Seville Estate Pinot Noir

McMahon has achieved an excellent level of ripeness in this wine - with an alcohol reading of 13.0%, so good things are expected on the nose and palate. The colour is disappointing - light, brick red, but not to dispair! The nose is superb - Burgundian, uplifted strawberry spice with game and toasty oak overtones. The palate continues to display strong 'sweet' strawberry fruit flavours enhanced by game and spice. Tannins are a touch firm for the fruit initially - but in balance. Despite the lack of weight, this wine displays remarkable depth and persistence.Cellar 3 - 5 years.
