Tasting notes sourced from Domaine Chandon.

1992 was one of the coolest and sunniest growing seasons ever recorded in Victoria resulting in exceptionally high quality fruit. The fruit was picked at optimum ripeness for super premium sparkling wine, giving great palate weight without the over ripe fruit characters.Made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. Light bronze/light gold tinges indicate the use of 100% of the red grape Pinot Noir in the blend. The nose displays red berry fruits together with spicy, doughy, yeasty characters. The palate is intensely flavoured - this is powerful wine with a very long and mouthfilling texture. The characteristic Pinot Noir 'dryness' is present with smoky and spicy notes giving way toa soft finish. The characteristic long and structured finish of Pinot Noir is typified in this 1992 vintage. The Pinot Noir length and strong flavours allow this wine to be matched with food enhanced with Asian spices.
