This is the second shipment of this wine which has just arrived and represents exceptional quality. The 1991 vintage resulted in greater yields than normal and rather than diluting the great wine of Chateau ..Y......, it was decided to sell the surplus off to negociants. The wine has been simply bottled as Sauternes and sold off as a generic - But what value!Brassy gold colour, with good viscosity. The nose is quite outstanding with aromas of apricot, honey, spice and lemon. The pronounced apricot aromas indicate a high degree of botrytis or noble rot. The palate displays a rich luscious texture, although certainly not to the degree found in Chateau ..Y...... Honey, lemon and apricot flavours dominate with orange and mandarin in the background. Excellent length and depth, clean dry finish with long mandarin apricot aftertaste. Cellar 5 - 10 years. (Stocks are very limited).
