1989 Leeuwin Estate Art Series Museum Release Cabernet Sauvignon

Leeuwin Estate have just re-released this wine and it's in peak condition for drinking now! Deep brick red colour. Perfumed nose of ripe plum, spice, tobacco with just a hint of cedar and leather in the background. The palate displays rich tertiary flavours - and still has some way to go. Ripe dark plum, liquorice, dark chocolate spice and cedar fill the palate. A wine with great depth of flavour and persistence with a slightly warm finish on the back palate. The tannins are fine - dry and long, yet in perfect balance to the fruit. Long plum, prune and cedar aftertaste. The wine actually improved considerably with about one hours breathe. Cellar 1 - 5 years.
