The colour reflects a wine that has held its age very well indeed. Opaque crimson colour with dusty earthy nose, followed by hints of blackcurrant and violets. On the palate the blackcurrant, plum and cedar flavours dominate, yet without the concentration of the 1986. Fine grained tannins, the wine is beginning to show some signs of age on the palate with the acidity and tannin levels falling away slightly. Warm finish with spice, plum and cedar aftertaste.
