1986 Wynns Coonawarra Estate John Riddoch Cabernet Sauvignon

This wine is drinking at its peak, and displays remarkable power and persistence of flavour. The wine has a considerable crust and should be brought up from the cellar at least 48 hours before hand and left to settle. Deep sienna brown colour. Showing its age. Superb nose, with wonderful tertiary aromas of prunes, dusty berries, liquorice allsorts, violets, cedar and truffle. Mouthfilling palate, with flavours of cedar, dark chocolate and prune, with a hint of spice and confectionery on the back palate. Remarkable depth and concentration of flavour. Velvet smooth tannins followed by very long aftertaste of prunes, old leather, liquorice and spice.
