1982 Chateau Mouton Rothschild

Pauillac, Bordeaux,
$1950. 00
Bottle
$23400.00 Dozen
Closure: Cork

This is an extraordinary wine, and still holding its structure. Chateau Mouton Rothschild has a very high percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon, (85%) which has enabled it to maintain its youthfulness over the last 20 years. The balance of the blend consists of 7% Cabernet Franc and 8% Merlot.

The 1982 Mouton is still holding its colour superbly. Very deep crimson colour, with a brick red hue. Superb nose – just a benchmark of what great Bordeaux is. Perfumed nose with notes of violets, spice, earth and blackcurrant. The fruit on this wine is still holding up, with the blackcurrant fruit flavours still evident. Layers of cedar, spice and just a hint of earth are enhanced by a degree of sophistication and elegance that is characterised by Bordeaux First Growths. Very fine… superfine tannins, perfect balance with exceptionally long aftertaste of spice, cedar and blackcurrant.
